On Saturday 6 March at 20.00 hours inside the “Casa de Cultura” in l’Alfàs, ‘Classic Meets Jazz’ presents in an extraordinary concert a selection of works by Bohm, Haydn, Doppler and Bolling, performed by the quintet of Claudi Arymany and Eduard Sánchez both on flute; Santi Escura on piano; Jordi Cabarrocas double bass and Ferran Guillamet drums, reported the Councillor for Culture, Manuel Casado.
The concert is organised by the Sociedad de Conciertos de Música Clásica de l’Alfàs, in collaboration with the Department of Culture. Admission is free for members, and 10 euros for non-members, and can be purchased at the box office on the Saturday before the musical event.
Claudi Arymany, flute, is considered one of the most prestigious Spanish soloists with an international reputation and uses for his concerts the emblematic W.S. Haynes golden flute that belonged to J.P.Rampal.
Eduard Sánchez, flute, currently professor at the Conservatory of Music of Barcelona, has played with different ensembles, especially in concerts at the Palau de la Música, the Cathedral, the Basilica and the University of Valencia.
Santiago Escura is a composer, arranger and pianist. He has performed in Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, Poland and Germany.
Ferran Guillamet, drums, has played and recorded with, among others, Dígit Arts, the Amoga Orchestra, Lluis Llach or Névoa & la Flama de Farners and Neus Mar.
Jordi Carrabocas, double bass, currently forms part of the popular Havana group ‘Els Pescadors de L’Escala’ as a double bass and bass baritone player.
