The Government of Valencia works on remodeling the FGV tram railway platforms. These works will enable the FGV to adapt the current platforms for passenger access to the new low-floor dual trains. In total, this investment will affect 14 stations and halts on lines 1 and 9.
The first works began in 2020 at l’Alfàs del Pi station and at the Camí Coves halt in the municipality of Benidorm, and last week the l’Albir halt was completed.
The planned works have been divided into two batches. The first refers to the dismantling of Disco Benidorm, which has already been completed; the Benidorm section, which is currently under construction and the Vila Hospital, where work will begin in mid-May.
In the second batch, the lowering and adaptation of platforms in Camí Coves, l’Alfàs del Pi and El Albir has already been completed, while Altea, l’Olla, Altea and Cala Piteres are under construction, facilities to which Garganes will be added from the 29th. Work on Cap Negret will begin in June.
Finally, accessibility improvement works will be carried out in Teulada, Gata de Gorgos and Dénia.
This action is part of the different technical initiatives being carried out by the Generalitat, through FGV, on the Benidorm-Dénia connection, with the aim of maintaining and improving operating conditions, guaranteeing the regularity and quality of the service with standards similar to those of the rest of the FGV network in Alicante.
